VOCATIONAL JOB DEVELOPMENT AND PLACEMENT
Goodwill of Southern Ohio, Inc. offers job placement services, as well as helping individuals determine the type of jobs that they desire. Goodwill of Southern Ohio, Inc.’s purpose is to bring independence to individuals with disabilities and disadvantages through employment within our community. Our Vocational Rehabilitation staff is dedicated to placing each individual in a job that is most suited to their needs. Also, 30day, 60day, and 90day Retention at the beginning of employment to ensure that there is no need for extra supports. Vocational Rehabilitation staff want to make the JOB Placement as successful as possible.
JOB SEEKING SKILLS TRAINING
Job Seeking Skills Training is a comprehensive, one-on-one service that works with people to develop the essential skills they need to prepare them for a competitive job search and a job. Consumers should receive the tools necessary for their job search.
JOB COACHING/WORK ADJUSTMENT
Job Coaching consist of one-on-one instruction to help consumers learn job task and to adjust to the work environment. Work Adjustment is a training program in either a community or facility based setting to assist the consumer in acquiring or improving work skills, work behavior, work tolerance, interpersonal skills, and work ethics.
C.B.A. INFORMATION: (COMMUNITY BASED ASSESSMENT)
A Community Based Assessment is an opportunity for the consumer to sample a particular job of interest. This program enables the consumer, the Vocational Rehab. Staff and the referring counselor to assess whether or not the consumer is capable of performing the task, if the goal is a realistic one and whether training should continue with that particular occupational goal in mind. The assessment allows the consumer to learn all elements and tasks necessary to perform the job and to decide if it remains a vocational interest.
WHO REFERS CLIENTS TO GOODWILL INDUSTRIES EMPLOYMENT SERVICES
Goodwill accepts referrals from various state, federal, and local government agencies.
WHO PAYS HOURLY WAGES AND LIABILITY FOR COMMUNITY BASE ASSESSMENT/WORK ADJUSTMENT
When a consumer is involved in a Vocational Rehabilitation Program or Employment Program with Goodwill Industries, the consumer is paid an hourly wage for a set number of hours (determined by the referring agency) and is under Goodwill’s policies and procedures.
